Leadership

Phil Pynor is the Senior Pastor, beginning his ministry at Aberfoyle  in Feb 2010. Phil is married to Carolyn and they have three teenage girls. Phil has been a Senior pastor for the past twelve years and prior to ministry was involved in education.

Phil is passionate about his relationship with Jesus Christ and believes the greatest gift any one person can receive is the grace and mercy of God.

Phil loves serving through the local church and is committed to nurturing the kingdom influence of Aberfoyle Uniting in the local community.

Phil is also involved in coaching / mentoring Pastors and has been involved in strategic planning and governance both in the church and wider community for many years. Phil enjoys sailing, in fact anything on or in the water; tennis, off road camping, movies, food and relaxing with his family.

Brant Jones
Our Seaford Campus Pastor Brant Jones, married to Neva and both a father and a grandfather brings a depth of knowledge to his passion for starting new churches (hotels are a good a place as any!) with Seaford being his third. Irrevocably called by Jesus to become a Pastor and leave working on the family farm, conversions and healthy Christians living in the world is one of his non-negotiables.

Peter Morton
Peter Morton has been attending the Aberfoyle Uniting Church since early 2005, regularly serving in worship ministry.

In September 2008, he commenced as Discipleship Pastor to lead and support the overall process of growing people in their Christian faith, together with allowing them to feel a part of the Aberfoyle Uniting Church community.

He enjoys reading, writing, playing piano, singing, and spending time with his family. Peter and his wife Jo have five young children - Lilly, Oliver, Elliott, Harry & Spencer (twins).

Peter has a background in civil engineering, and for many years worked in this field while having an increasing desire to be involved in full-time ministry. He has a passion to see people’s lives touched, changed and committed to living out authentic faith.

Wendy Perkins

Wendy has been worshipping with her family at Aberfoyle Uniting Church since 1983.  She has been involved in worship ministry, as keyboard player, band director and now as Worship Pastor.

Wendy is passionate about worship and about helping people to engage in life-transforming encounters with God through our worship gatherings, as well as understanding worship as a lifestyle which encompasses our ‘whole-of-life’ response to God.

She enjoys reading, listening to music of all genres, playing piano, travel, crosswords, patchwork and embroidery. Wendy is married to John and they have 3 adult sons.

With a background as a secondary teacher of German and Music and several years spent at home engaged in full-time child-rearing, Wendy brings many years of experience in nurturing, encouraging and instructing to her role. She has overall responsibility for all worship services at both Aberfoyle campuses and loves to empower, resource and support the teams of volunteers in ministry.

Peter Riggs

After a life that involved just passing a science degree, school chaplaincy in both state and private schools for 12 years and being a trolley boy at Stirling Foodland, Pete embarked on the journey as Pastor overseeing the youth and young adults at Aberfoyle Uniting Church in 2005.

Married to Rachel  and  father to Josh, Maddy, Charlotte and Isabella is a real joy and rich experience (non-financially speaking), so much so that with the addition of physical children, came the addition of the Children’s ministry portfolio in 2008.

When not in and throughout the office, Pete is enjoying the opportunity to coach footy, seeing a good redemptive movie with a coffee in hand and threatening to record another Innhaus record.

His passion is not only seeing people surprised by the wonder, the enormity and the closeness of God in Jesus, but also the living out of that remarkable reality.

In short - he loves what he does and doesn’t want to do anything else.

Roger Modra

Roger has been worshipping at Aberfoyle Uniting Church with his wife and three children since 2002. He has been involved in preaching, sacraments, worship, short term mission and programs that reach others for Christ. His role is to encourage others to use their gifts and passions to serve Christ by serving their community in new and exciting ways.

Roger has a passion for ‘blokes’ ministry and is currently involved in a ‘shed ministry’ at Aberfoyle. He loves fishing, sport, playing the guitar and spending time with family.

He was a Rotary Exchange Student in 1984, a farmer at Naracoorte for 14 years and has been serving Aberfoyle Uniting Church for the past 3 years.
