Cross-Cultural Mission Work

Sai Mai Mission

Aberfoyle has now sent 2 teams to Sai Mai, an outer suburb of Bangkok, Thailand. The teams are there to get alongside and serve a local church as they reach out to the community through teaching English. The students have an opportunity to improve their English skills by talking with a native speaker over a 2 week period during their school holidays. For many of the students this is the first time they have been in contact with foreigners and Christians.

The people who join the team have an opportunity to help children in a developing nation, form relationships and worship with Christians in another culture, to have their faith deepened as their face the challenge of being in a strange place, but most of all to show the love of Jesus to people who have never heard of him before. We will be sending another team in April 2008. Applications close on the 25th November 2007.
