Operation Christmas

Operation Christmas Child in a fantastic opportunity we have to make a difference in the life of children across the world this Christmas.

Operation Christmas Child is a simple concept - fill a regular shoe box with small, generally inexpensive gifts and then pray as that box gets delivered to a child somewhere in the world ... a child for whom your box will probably be the only gift they receive this Christmas.

Ask your small group leader for a brochure which gives you more info and also a promotional DVD (there are a number of different short presentations).

Last year as a church we made over 250 boxes. I’m praying that this year we will increase that number and in doing so, increase the number of lives we are touching with God’s love.

A couple of notes as you get involved this year:

  • There will be a limited number of shoe boxes available from the church on September 8/9 & 15/16 ... but if you can find your own that is even better
  • More brochures (and a few DVDs) are available at the Church Office
  • You can get more "boy" & "girl" shoe box labels from the link to the left
  • Please read the guidelines for things you can and can't include - note that "religious things" includes "anything with Christian messages or images" (refer to the Samaritins Purse web site - link to the left)
  • Why not make up the shoe boxes as a whole Small Group one meeting
  • Remember to cover, but not seal your boxes - they have to be opened & checked
  • Boxes must be returned to the church on Oct 6/7
